Easy

This is an easy-paced trip, designed around sightseeing and photography rather than physical challenge. Daily walking is moderate and typically takes place on paved streets, temple paths, gardens, and historic towns. Some locations involve stairs, uneven stone paths, or gentle slopes, especially in Kyoto and the Nakasendo post towns. Participants should be comfortable walking several hours per day at a relaxed pace. This trip is not suitable for guests with significant mobility limitations.

Photography Level

This journey is open to all photography levels, from complete beginners to experienced photographers.
This is not a technical photography workshop. The focus is on being in the right place at the right time, understanding atmosphere, light, and composition. Yuto Yamada will guide the group to his favorite locations and viewpoints, offering practical suggestions on framing, timing, and visual storytelling rather than camera settings or formal instruction. Guests are welcome to shoot with any device, from professional cameras to smartphones or action cameras. The experience is equally valuable for photographers, content creators, and visual storytellers looking to elevate their eye rather than their gear.

From mid to late November, central Japan enters the peak of the Koyo season. Daytime temperatures are cool and comfortable, typically ranging between 12–18 °C (54–64 °F), with colder mornings and evenings. In mountain areas such as Nagano and around Mount Fuji, temperatures often drop to 5–8 °C (41–46 °F).
This is the height of autumn color, when fiery red maples, golden ginkgo trees, and deep amber tones transform temples, forests, and historic towns. The air is crisp and clearer than in summer, delivering excellent visibility for mountain landscapes and clean, contrast-rich light throughout the day. Many temples extend their opening hours for seasonal illuminations, creating rare opportunities to photograph glowing foliage after dark.
Weather is generally stable, with a mix of clear days and occasional light rain. Layers are essential, especially for early-morning shoots and evening sessions, when temperatures fall quickly and the atmosphere sharpens.
