Wildlife Encounters
Q: What kind of marine life can we expect during the dives?
A: The Sea of Cortez is one of the richest marine ecosystems on the planet. In La Paz, encounters commonly include highly interactive sea lions, mobula rays, dolphins, sea turtles, and dense schools of fish. In Cabo Pulmo, dives are famous for massive jackfish tornadoes, resident bull sharks, and an exceptional level of biodiversity on one of the best-preserved coral reefs in the Pacific.
Q: Is swimming with sea lions guaranteed?
A: Sea lion encounters in La Paz are common and these animals are known for their playful and curious behavior. However, they are wild animals and all interactions happen on their terms. Please note that scuba diving with sea lions is not permitted from June to August, as this is their breeding season.
