KEY INFORMATION

DAY 1 – Arrival & Welcome Onboard

Arrive at Velana International Airport (MLE) in Malé, where our team will meet you for a short transfer to the harbor. You’ll board the liveaboard that will be home for the whole trip, settle into your cabin, and get familiar with life on board. In the evening, you’ll meet Harry Timson and the crew for a welcome briefing covering the forecast, the plan for the coming days, and how the surf clinic will work. Dinner onboard and first night at anchor.

DAY 2–9 – Surfing & Coaching in the Central Atolls

For the next eight days, we cruise through the Central Atolls, moving between breaks to follow swell and wind conditions. Navigation often happens overnight or early in the morning, so you wake up close to the best waves of the day.
Each day includes multiple surf sessions, supported by structured coaching led by Harry Timson. The focus is on progression: positioning, wave selection, technique, and confidence in reef conditions. When conditions allow, sessions are filmed for video review.
In the late afternoon or evening, the group gathers for relaxed debriefs and feedback sessions, reviewing footage, discussing the day’s surf, and setting personal goals for the next sessions.
Between surfs, enjoy meals onboard, time on deck, lagoon swims, or rest as the boat moves between atolls. Breaks are selected daily based on conditions and group level, with access to a wide range of waves, from playful reefs to more technical sections.

DAY 10 – Return to Malé & Departure

After a final morning surf or breakfast on board, we cruise back toward Malé. A private transfer takes you to the airport for your onward flight. You’ll leave with sharper skills, a deeper understanding of your surfing, and a full week spent chasing waves across the Maldives.

Fly into Velana International Airport (MLE) in Malé. Airport pickup and drop-off are included on the first and last day. From there, we’ll take care of everything.

Intermediate to Advanced

This trip is designed for intermediate to advanced surfers looking to push their progression in world-class reef breaks. Maldives' Central Atolls offer a highly versatile playground, ranging from long, manageable walls to faster, hollow sections for those wanting more of a challenge. While some spots require confidence in overhead surf and sharp positioning, the variety of the archipelago ensures there are plenty of intermediate-friendly reefs that reward strong paddling and consistent turns without the intensity of more famous heavy-water regions.

The Central Atolls enjoy a tropical climate with warm air and water year-round.
Air temperature: ~27–31 °C (∼81–88 °F). Water temperature: ~28 °C (∼82 °F): no wetsuit needed, just a rash guard for sun protection. Expect plenty of sun, but occasional tropical showers can roll through: light, breathable clothing and quick-dry gear are best.

Surf & Conditions

Q: What level of surfing is required?
A: This trip is suitable for intermediate to advanced surfers. The Central Atolls offer a mix of playful reef breaks and more powerful waves: our expert guides will match spots to the group’s ability and daily conditions.

Q: When is the best time to surf the Central Atolls?
A: The prime surf season runs from March to October, when consistent swells hit from the south. Our dates are chosen for optimal wave quality and fewer crowds.

Q: How many surfers are on board?
A: We limit each charter to a small group to keep the vibe relaxed and ensure plenty of waves for everyone.

Q: How does the surf clinic work?
A: The trip includes daily in-water coaching led by former pro surfer Harry Timson. Sessions focus on positioning, wave selection, technique, and adapting to reef conditions. When conditions allow, surfing is filmed and reviewed during relaxed evening debriefs to support progression throughout the trip.

The Boat

Q: What type of boat is used for this trip?
A: We use a simple but comfortable liveaboard designed for surfers. It features ensuite cabins, a sun deck for lounging between sessions, and indoor and outdoor dining areas. It’s built for life on the water rather than luxury, with a focus on function, space, and easy access to surf spots.

Q: How do we get to the breaks from the boat?
A: The boat serves as our base, and when conditions and tide require it, we use a dhoni or dinghy to quickly ferry surfers to and from nearby reef breaks. This setup maximizes water time and allows access to a range of waves across the Central Atolls.

The Food

Q: How does the food work?
A: Expect three meals daily plus snacks to refuel between sessions. Dietary preferences or restrictions can be accommodated, just let us know in advance.
